Masticophis bilineatus.
NM Oct. 2008.
Photographed during a survey for the state of NM.
One of my favorite photos that I've done; can't decide whether I like it better in color or grayscale.

I recommend fullview-you can see me reflected in his eye, and count his labial scales.

Generally snake photos are taken to be in focus (as much as possible) and on the ground with a natural background.
I took this one initially because I couldn't get him to hold still, and loved the end result.
I did no photo manipulation, except for removing color.

Nikon D60. Kit lens (18-55mm)
Photo not edited except removing saturation for grayscale.
