Masticophis bilineatus. NM Oct. 2008. Photographed during a survey for the state of NM. One of my favorite photos that I've done; can't decide whether I like it better in color or grayscale.
I recommend fullview-you can see me reflected in his eye, and count his labial scales.
Generally snake photos are taken to be in focus (as much as possible) and on the ground with a natural background. I took this one initially because I couldn't get him to hold still, and loved the end result. I did no photo manipulation, except for removing color.
Nikon D60. Kit lens (18-55mm) Photo not edited except removing saturation for grayscale.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
